Top Reasons to Hire a Moving Company

Tips for moving a house

Closing on a new home is an exciting time, but it can also be a harrowing one as well.  Usually, people overestimate what they can handle and end up getting into messes that are hard to get under control.  Moving can be one of those situations.  People don’t generally appreciate the amount of stuff they’ve accumulated until they have to pack it and move it to another home.  Here are a few reasons you shouldn’t handle the move yourself and get a free moving quote.

Too Much Stuff

If you’ve lived in a house for multiple years, you will be amazed at how much stuff you really have.  Multiple Christmas shopping seasons have taken place since you’ve been in the old house, and you are going to have to move all those gifts.  All of this can be overwhelming and a lot more work than you might be thinking it is.  Hire a moving company because you have more things in your house than you think.

Your Friends are Busy

Most people dread the call from a friend who just bought a house because they know what is coming.  Since most people underestimate the amount of work required in a move, they will do the same thing in putting more of a burden on their friends than they think they will.  Professional movers do this every day of their lives.  Take advantage of their experience, and you won’t underestimate the work a move will take or annoy your friends.

Furniture is Heavy

If you try and move your heavy and expensive furniture yourself, the likelihood that you damage it is high.  Professional movers have moved countless pieces of furniture; they know how to protect these expensive pieces of furniture.  They twist and turn all different sizes and shapes items in and out of houses all the time and will make short work of the move.  If you do it yourself, you’ll have countless hurdles to get over that could overwhelm you and make the move take a lot longer than it should.

Moving is More than Moving Stuff

Not only do you need to move your things from one house to another, but you need to move your life from one place to the next.  Transferring your utilities, getting a new bank, getting the kids settled in to the new school district is time-consuming and stressful.  When you add the mundane moving tasks, you can lose your mind, hiring a mover will help make your life a lot easier.

Warranty Protection

As discussed above, moving heavy and expensive pieces of furniture are challenging, and the odds of you doing it without damaging them aren’t the best.  Moving companies offer moving warranties where if they break something, you’ll be protected.  Warranty protection is an excellent piece of mind and should allow you to relax a bit more during an otherwise hectic move.

For these reasons and more, you may want to hire a professional mover to help make your life easier and the move more rewarding.
